Eric Stobart joins TISA Board

Former Lloyds TSB Director of Public Policy and Regulation Eric Stobart has joined the Tax Incentivised Savings Association (TISA) Board.

Stobart joins TISA as a non-executive director. He was until recently Director of Public Policy and Regulation at Lloyds TSB and was previously Chief Executive of Hill Samuel Bank. (See Editors Note)

Editors Note:

Eric Stobart was until recently Director of Public Policy and Regulation at Lloyds TSB reporting to the Deputy Group Chief Executive. He was responsible for addressing and ensuring an effective and co-ordinated proactive approach to the major public policy and regulatory issues facing the Lloyds TSB Group from a domestic, European and international perspective. He also handled major regulatory investigations affecting the Group and as such has dealt with a number of Competition Commission, OFT and FSA inquiries, Treasury Select Committee hearings and regulatory reviews including the Cruickshank Report into the UK banking industry. He is a trustee of the Lloyds TSB Group Pension Scheme and chairs its Investment Review Panel.

Much of his career has been with Hill Samuel Bank, latterly as Chief Executive in which capacity he integrated the business and operations of the Bank into Lloyds Bank. Prior to this he was Director, Finance and Planning of the Hill Samuel Division of TSB Group and previously was a Senior Corporate Finance Director at Hill Samuel Bank.

Earlier he was seconded for three and a half years to Hill Samuel Australia (now Australia’s leading investment bank, Macquarie Bank) as well as spending time in South Korea and Japan. Previously he was with Coopers & Lybrand in London, the Middle East and Africa.

A qualified Chartered Accountant, Eric Stobart also has an MSc (now MBA) from London Business School and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

His interests include rugby football, skiing, classical music and restoration of vintage commercial vehicles. He is a Liveryman and Past Master of the Worshipful Company of World Traders, a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Liveryman and Court Assistant of the Guild of International Bankers
